WHO CAN JOIN

Swim lessons are open to ages 3 and up — toddlers, kids, teens, and adults. I don't teach group lessons. Every session is one swimmer, or two siblings, with me in the water. That's it. That's the whole point.

Toddlers must be 3 years old, potty trained, and able to follow a one-step instruction. Toddlers do best one-on-one with an adult — which is exactly what they get here. Almost 3? Get on the waitlist now so you're ready the moment they are.

Siblings are welcome — I teach two siblings at a time, as long as the age gap is less than 24 months.

For children with Autism and physical disabilities I will customize the lesson to accommodate any limitations and we can work together to find a time when the pool is not loud or busy.

WHAT LESSONS FOCUS ON

Lessons are built around fun, interactive play, real skill-building, emotional development, and growing confidence in the water. Every session has structure — but the structure bends to fit each swimmer's learning pace and communication style.

There's a 2-minute break built into every lesson. Swimmers can use it anytime — bathroom, a hug, a drink of water. It's not a reward, it's just part of how we work.

LESSONS

I customize lessons for swimmers with Autism, physical disabilities, and ADHD. Every limitation gets accommodated — and we can work together to find a time when the pool is quieter and less busy.

I have ADHD too. I know how to make learning happen fast, keep things moving, and hold a child's attention. I depend on parents to practice verbal cues at home that carry over into our time in the pool.

Bend Golf Club

Indoor pool · Southeast Bend · Year-round, January – December

Bend Golf Club is an indoor pool in southeast Bend. I'm independently contracted here and teach all year — January through December, rain or shine. Lessons run Tuesday through Thursday, 2–7pm. Sundays and Mondays are added in winter.

BGC Members
Club members receive priority scheduling and preferential updates when slots open. Make sure to note your membership on your intake form.

Non-Members
Non-members are absolutely welcome — here's what to know before signing up:

  • You'll be second in line for scheduling notifications and slot availability

  • Occasionally your slot may be rescheduled if a club member requests it — you'll always be notified in advance

  • Bring your own towel — the club does not provide them

  • You have 15 minutes after your lesson ends to clear the pool area

  • Locker rooms must be left completely clear of personal items when you go

Pool Etiquette — everyone
Quiet voices in the locker rooms, no running, and adult supervision at all times. This applies to all ages, all visits, members and non-members alike.

Broken Top Club

Outdoor pool · Summer only · Mid-June through September 5th

Broken Top is a gated outdoor pool with lifeguards and pool attendants on site. Lessons run Friday through Sunday before 2pm.

Members or immediate family of members only.

Arriving
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to park, sign in, set up your swim bag, and rinse off in the showers before entering the pool. Lessons start on time and run back to back — a late arrival means a shorter lesson.

What to bring
Sunscreen and a water bottle are strongly recommended — especially for younger swimmers. Please be mindful of your child's sensitivity to the sun and hydration.

What not to bring
No gum, life vests, squirt guns, or electrical toys.

Weather
Bend's summer weather can change fast. Lessons may be rescheduled if it's raining, lightning, smoky, cold, or outside of 70–100°F. I typically cancel if the AQI is above 130 — though if it clears by 11am, lessons often run. Check your inbox or text me the morning of your lesson if you're unsure. I'll always communicate as early as I can.

New Client Information

New Client Information ~

All new clients start with the intake form. Include your scheduling preferences and anything relevant about your swimmer's learning style — the more I know upfront, the better I can set you both up for success.

Once your form is submitted, expect anywhere from two weeks to two months before your first lesson depending on the season. I know that's a range, but it's an honest one. Submit early and get on the waitlist.

Year-round lessons at Bend Golf Club run Tuesday through Thursday, 2–7pm. In winter, I add Sundays and Mondays.

Packages

After the intake form, the next step is choosing your package.

A Solo package is one swimmer. A Siblings package is two siblings with an age gap of less than 24 months. Packages come in groups of four as standard — packages of two or eight are available on request.

Lessons must be paid online before you can schedule your first slot. No exceptions — payment first, then scheduling.

Scheduling & Timing

Lessons run back to back and start on the half hour — every session begins on time and ends on time. Please arrive ready to go. A late arrival means a shorter lesson, not a longer one.

The exit plan matters. Before you arrive, talk to your child about how the lesson ends — what happens, how long it is, and what comes next. Kids who know the plan exit calmly and independently. Kids who don't know the plan sometimes cry at the pool edge, and nobody wants that transition. If grandparents are dropping off or watching, they need to know the exit plan too.

First lessons are hard sometimes. Your child might cry, refuse to get in, or need a little convincing. That's normal — plan on helping them into the water, then move yourself at least 20 feet away from the lesson area. For toddlers under 4, stay in sight but give them space. They'll check in and wave about every seven minutes, and they need to see you there cheering.

Cheering is never an interruption. It's actually one of the most important things you can do. Cheer loudly, remind them that hard things get easier — because they do, every single time.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

No refunds. But your lesson doesn't disappear either — cancelled lessons get banked and can be used anytime during the season.

If you cancel, reschedule online through an open slot as soon as you can. If you're having trouble finding a time, text or email me and I'll help you find an alternative. Just don't wait too long — open slots fill up.

Locker Room Etiquette

This one's simple and applies to everyone — members, non-members, all ages: quiet voices, no running, and adult supervision in the locker rooms at all times. Leave the locker room completely clear of your personal items when you go.
