ABOUT ME

It started with an Ironman.

I have a background in synchronized swimming from second through sixth grade, and in 2016, I decided to sign up for a full Ironman 140.6 race in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. In doing so I met my swim coach, Coach Mike. Coach Mike taught me how to swim quickly and efficiently in open water and then offered me a job coaching swim lessons at his private pool. In June 2016 I started teaching swim lessons part time alongside training for the CDA Ironman Triathlon. I completed the full 2.4 mile swim without a wetsuit and though the swim was fast and fun, the biking and running were miserable.

In 2017 I moved to Seattle, Washington where I taught at Swim Labs in Issaquah and at the Washington Athletic Club. I also taught privately at various community pools and YMCA pools until 2020 when I moved to Portland and Covid hit.

In May 2019 I completed my second full Ironman in Santa Rosa, California. This time I wore the wetsuit!

Between 2017 and 2021 I completed USMS coaching certifications levels one through three. I am insured, licensed, registered, and certified to teach swim lessons according to WSI standards, and I am PADI scuba certified.

I moved to Bend in 2021 and began teaching at Bend Golf Club in October. In 2022 I found that Broken Top needed a summer swim coach and jumped at the opportunity. I finished my triathlon career in April 2024 by completing a half Ironman in Oceanside, California.

I am obsessed with the water and recently got to teach a lesson in hot springs in southern Idaho.

I will teach lessons anytime, anywhere.
